Ministry of Justice demands that BPF remove white-red-flag from headquarters entrance
The central office of the Belarusian Popular Front was visited by a consultant of the department of non-governmental organization of the Ministry of Justice Alexander Kharyton.
As the party press service informs, the official was interested only in one thing - why the white-red-white flag was hanging above the entrance to the office.
The BPF members didn’t spent time for explaining why they consider this flag to be a Belarusian symbol, and asked a formal request from the ministry. Mr Kharyton promised to send a request in the nearest time. However, he didn’t say the historical Belarusian flag, which had been the state flag of the Republic of Belarus recently, was forbidden today.
It should be reminded that the BPF received a direction of the local housing and utilities service ordering to remove the flag from facade under a threat of dissolution of a rental contract. It is difficult to understand why Belarusian national symbols annoy the authorities.
