Wife of opposition politician called to KGB
On November 14, Nasta Chernik-Rymasheuskaya, wife of the co-chairman of the organising committee for creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Vital Rymasheuski, was called to the KGB for giving evidence.
About 8 p.m. a KGB officer phoned to the Rymasheuskis. He told Nasta to come to the KGB office. According to Mrs. Rymasheuskaya, they didn’t tell her why she was called in. Later they said it might have been connected with 3-4 July blast in Minsk. When Nasta refused to go to the KGB office, she was proposed another option: officer may visit her at her home and take evidence that evening. Certainly, Nasta rejected this opportunity.
Mrs. Rymasheuskaya thinks the call was connected with activity of her husband, heading the committee for creation the Belarusian Christian Democracy party.
