On 3 February in Homel the police detained three activists of Young Front and of the organizing committee the Belarusian Christian Democracy party.
As the BelaPAN has been informed by the activist of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democratic party Kanstantsin Zhukouski, four young men marched with a streamer: ‘KGB booted us from work. Will the Constitution defend us?’ from the regional Drama Theatre to the building of Homel oblat executive committee. They were standing there for about 20 minutes. As said by Zhukouski, ten policemen were observing the rally.
Soon two participants of the picket, Andrei Tsianiuta and Vasil Takarenka, were detained in Lenin Square and taken to the police department of Tsentralny district for examination. The policemen explained to them that the reason of detention was ‘“unauthorized rally’.
K.Zhukouski was detained and taken to the police department as well, though (as said by him) he hadn’t participated in the rally. He was videoing the events near the executive committee. Two more participants of the rally came to the police department on their own to support their colleagues.
