Belarus is cited among the most dangerous countries for journalists
The international journalist community has composed a list of the countries that are most dangerous for representatives of mass media.
As stated by the president of the Universal forum of chief editors George Brock at the 58th Universal Newspaper Forum, in 2004 about 500 journalists were imprisoned in different countries of the world. According to participants of the forum, freedom of expression has been exposed to danger in the majority regions of the world – for the period since November 2004 till May 2005 there were killed 38 journalists, informs Moskovskiy Komsomolets.
Brock called Cuba, a number of Latin-American countries, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Philippines, Nepal, China and Russia the most dangerous countries for journalists.
Bear in mind that the Universal Newspaper Forum and the simultaneous 12th Universal Forum of chief editors were attended by about 1 500 delegates from 82 countries of the world.
