Detentions for EU symbols continue in Belarus

The police continue detaining opposition activists for leaflets and stickers with the EU symbols. In the evening of 7 March in the town of Biaroza in Brest oblast they detained the activist of European Bealrus Aliaksei Masetsich.

The youngster was posting stickers with the EU flag. He was kept at Biaroza district police department for about three hours and then was let go.

On 6 March in Minsk the police detained Uladz Ihnatovich, Aleh Ladutska, Marta Kruhlova, Iryna Piatrova and Maxim Viniarski for posting the stickers along Nezalezhnastsi Avenue. The detainees were guarded to a police bus. There they were searched and then were let go.

Bear in mind that detentions for distribution of leaflets with the EU symbols frequently take place in Belarus. The confiscated EU flags are destroyed by burning.
