Prosecutor’s office in Salihorsk refused to initiate criminal proceedings related to the suicide of a human rights activist Yana Palyakova.
Radio Svaboda has been informed about that in the prosecutor’s office.
“Inquiry is finished. There are no signs that Yana Palyakova had been incited to commit suicide,” a representative of the prosecutor’s office said.
As we have informed, on March 7 overnight a human rights activist from Salihorsk, Yana Palyakova, committed suicide. She was just 33. The day before, “Sovetskaya Belorussiya” published an insulting article about her. Salihorsk court found her guilty of false information about policeman Puhachou and sentenced her to 2.5 years of restraint of liberty.
