Hrodna authorities turned down the application of the trade union of radio-electronic industry (TUREI) on sanctioning their picket scheduled for 3 April. The aim of the picket was to express solidarity with the trade union activists in Mahiliou and Homel, where the authorities have many times refused to register the primary units of the trade unions.

The head of Hrodna city organization of TUREI Sviatlana Drahalava called this ban a violation of the constitutional rights of citizens to peaceful assemblies.
The formal reason for non-authorization of the action is that the specified place, Zhyliber park, did not belong to the list of the places that have been determined for mass actions by the city authorities.

However, this answer contradicts the reality: Zhyliber park is one of the places that have been determined for mass actions by Hrodna city executive committee by an appropriate ruling. Moreover, the lawfulness of such rulings of the city authorities is also quite disputable. The trade union activists state they can go to the law to defend their rights.
