On 4 May in the morning the human rights defender Valiantsin Stefanovich was returning home from Lithuania. The border guards examined his car and personal belongings.
They also expressed interest to the musical CDs he was listening to, in particular the Songs of Freedom compilation. One of the border guards even listened to all the songs, acting as a ‘musical expert’.
Bear in mind that Valiantsin Stefanovich and some other members of the liquidated Human Rights Center Viasna undergo thorough examination each time they cross the border for the second year already.
