Salihorsk police detain "Young Front" activists for defending the right to education
The Young Front activists who were detained on 5 May in the evening in Salihorsk during a picket in support of forcibly drafted Ivan Shyla, were released in three hours.
The young people gathered in the central square of the city and unfurled the streamer ‘School for all’. After that policemen detained Illia Shyla, Krystsina Samoilava, Hleb Snorkin, Illia Nahornia and Anastasiya Khadarkouskaya.
Reports have been drawn against all of them under Article 23.34, ‘Violation of the order of organizing and holding mass events’. They were released after three hours, the website mfront.net reports.
An additional report for ‘petty hooliganism’ was drawn up against Illya Shyla, who was making a photo report about the picket and was not taking part in the protest.
The picket of the Young Front in Salihorsk was aimed to support Ivan Shyla who for his political activities was expelled from school last year before the last exam. This year he has been forcibly drafted into the army.
