It should be reminded that on January 28, 2009, “Young Front” activist from Minsk Zmitser Khvedaruk was guarded to the military enlistment office, and then to a prison in Akrestsin Street allegedly for serving a punishment for participation in a rally on May 1, 2008. It became known later that there wasn’t a court decision. Nevertheless, Khvedaruk had to spend two days in prison. Handcuffed, he was guarded for a medical examination to Minsk hospital #14. The medical board found Zmitser Khvedaruk fit for military service in spite of a surgery on a vein carried out a month ago and a number of chronic diseases.
Handcuffed, the “Young Front” activist was guarded to a military unit in Zhodzina, though Zmitser was a student of the Theological College and had a medical exemption from the military service. He didn’t have a medical record and an identity document.
Khvedaruk has been taken to hospital two times after his forceful call-up. Doctors found diseases incompatible with military service, but the youth activist was sent to the military unit again.
