Maxim Dashuk sentenced to 15 months of personal restraint
Participant of the ‘process of 14’, prisoner of conscience Maxim Dashuk has been sentenced to 15 months of personal restraint without direction to open prison facility.
Taking into account the unserved part of his previous sentence on the base on article 70 of the Criminal Code the prosecutor demanded for Maxim Dashuk 1.5 years of restraint of liberty without sending to open type facilities. The prosecutor referred to mitigating circumstances – the minority status of the accused and his father’s death.
The sentence to Maxim Dashuk was given by judge of Maskouski district Kuzniatsova: 15 months of restraint of liberty without sending to open type facilities.
Maxim Dashuk, participant of the ‘process of 14’, was accused of violation of the rules of serving punishment (Article 415 of the Criminal Code).
On 23 February Maxim Dashuk was guarded to the Minsk pre-trial detention facility, but on the following day the prosecutor changed the measure of restraint to release on own recognizance.
Law enforcement agencies state Dashuk has some notices for violation of the rules of serving punishment of house arrest. He received all notices for being out at proper time.
In 2008, Maxim Dashuk was sentenced to 1.5 years of restraint of liberty for participation in protest rallies of entrepreneurs.
Amnesty International human rights organization recognized the participants of the ‘process of 14’ prisoners of conscience.
