Uladzimir Katsora stopped hunger-strike
The leader of Homel oppositionists Uladzimir Katsora, who has been arrested for an action in the memory of the police general Yury Zakharanka, stopped dry hunger-strike after six days.
The head of Homel oblast organization of the United Civil Party Vasil Paliakou and the activist of the United Democratic Forces Yury Zakharanka stopped the hunger-strike as well.
On 30 June Katsora and his friends paid a visit to Tsentralny district court of Homel and were informed that consideration of the cassation complaint was appointed on 22 July. ‘It emphasizes that the authorities are not ready to cooperation. We see no steps forward. The police persecute the people who remind them about the missing general Zakharanka instead of looking for him,’ commented Mr. Paliakou.
At present the question where Mr. Katsora will recreate from the hunger-strike is being solved. It is not known whether the leader of Homel branch of the Party of Communists of Belarus Uladzimir Siakerka and the activists of the party Sviatlana Mikhalchanka and Valer Rybchanka will continue the hunger-strike or not.
