Kobryn: dismissal from job for refusal to enter pro-governmental organization

Correspondence student Ales Strachuk has been fired from a Kobryn enterprise for refusal to join the pro-governmental organization Belaya Rus.

‘They had no pretensions to me before. On the contrary, they even promised to teach me something on my profile after my graduation. There aren’t enough workers as people are afraid of the upcoming Dazhynki (official celebration) and quit because of it. Several days ago the head of our department proposed us to join Belaya Rus. For this we needed to compose two statements: the first for joining and the second – for withdrawal of the membership fees from our wages. The youngsters who have been employed recently decided to join. As a result, they are still working, while I am being dismissed,’ commented Mr. Strachuk.
