Mahiliou authorities have abolished the preferential office rent coefficient for Mahiliou Human Rights Center, Mahiliou regional branch of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee and Mahiliou city charitable association Otklik.
On 8 July the human rights activists were explained that the rent for them has been increased tenfold. However, preferences have been preserved for some civil organizations of Mahiliou. They needed only to submit an appropriate address to the authorities. The authorities informed organizations about it on selective basis.
At present human rights defenders need to find at least any place with legal address, because they won’t be able to pay the increased rent.
