As said to BelaPAN by his daughter, Yury Liavonau got home on 8 August at 4.30 p.m. Mikalai Autukhovich and Uladzimir Asipenka are still kept in pre-trial prison #1 in Minsk.

‘I don’t know the conditions of his release well enough’, Yuliya Liavonava said. ‘Father has not told anything yet. Maybe he’ll meet with journalists next week’.

On 8 August there turned six months since the detention of the Vaukavysk entrepeneurs Mikalai Autukhovich, Yury Liavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka. On 18 February the entrepreneurs were given charges under Article 218 of the Criminal Code (voluntary waste or property destruction). According to the official information of MIA, on 23 June a criminal case under Article 359 (terrorist act) in the form of ‘crime preparation’ (Article 13) was brought against ‘Autukhovich and other persons’.

Autukhovich held a hunger-strike since 16 April till 16 July, demanding that the case either was passed to the court or he and his friends were released till trial under written recognizance not to leave.

As said by Autukhovich’s lawyer Pavel Sapelka, on 8 August the investigation was to decide on extension of the investigation term. He pointed that lawyers are not familiarized with such decisions – according to the Belarusian legal norms only the persons under investigation are informed about it.
