Baranavichy court takes sides with anti-nuclear activists
On 13 August Baranavichy court considered the lawsuit against the three youngsters who had been detained in April for making a number of graffiti on the walls of Baranavichy district executive committee and the Barauchanka knitting factory. In April the activists were tried for it. 18-year-old Aliaksei Zhynherouski was fined 350 000 rubles and two his under-age fellows-in-arms – 70 000 rubles each.
Three months after it Baranavichy housing community filed a claim against them, allegedly for compensating the expenses on liquidation of the graffiti, including some new ones in Brestskaya and Lenin streets. The defendants agreed only with a part of the pretensions of the housing economy and stated their readiness to pay only for the inscriptions that had been made by them. They also demanded that the housing economy presented to the court a separate expense lists for liquidating each inscription. This motion was supported by the court.
The housing economy representative did not attend today’s court sitting. The separate calculation of expenses for each graffiti was not presented either. As a result the judge did not satisfy the lawsuit. The verdict of Baranavichy court can be appealed at a higher court instance.
