During the morning doctor’s round Zmitser Khvedaruk was told his state of health was unsatisfactory and he should have stayed in hospital for one more week.
However, 15 minutes after the doctor’s round, KGB officers entered the ward and ordered the youth activist to gather his things. They said they would take Khvedaruk to the barracks, RFE/RL reports.
Zmitser Khvedaruk, who serves in Zhodzina, has been kept in Minsk military hospital since 7 September because of health problems. Bear in mind that Mr. Khvedaruk was drafted into the army on political grounds, after the unlawful expulsion from the theological faculty of the Belarusian State University (the study there gave him the right to determent from the military service).
