Anatol Liabedzka detained on Belarusian border
The leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka was detained after a personal search on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border in the morning of 7 October. As he said to the BelaPAN, Belarusian border guards became interested in his documents and then asked to show a customs declaration. After that the UCP leader was searched.
‘As a result, I have been standing on the border for more than an hour and can’t enter Lithuania, though all my documents are OK’, Liabedzka said. According to the politician, it has been the first such case for the last few months. ‘I didn’t face any problems when crossing the border before, but this time I faced strange problems’, the politician noted. The UCP head is visiting Vilnius on an invitation of the Lithuanian Seimas. He is going to have a range of working meetings there.
