A film crew of Belsat TV channel came to Navahradak on 11 November to shot an item about the monument to Lenin poured with paint.

As Siarhei Vouchak, head of the local branch of the Belarusian Christian Democracy, told the BCD press service, traffic police officers tried to impede the work of journalists.

‘My car was stopped by traffic police officers’, Siarhei Vouchak said. ‘They started inventing reasons for drawing up a report. They said the back seats were removed, which was forbidden.’

According to Vouchak, BelSat film crew’s car was the real aim of the local traffic police.

‘As they saw the car with journalists was driving away, they let me alone and tried to catch the Belsat journalists. They caught them up, made them stop and started looking for reasons to detain them. They failed to find anything and had to set the car free,’ the activist said.

The monument to Lenin in the center of Navahradak was poured with paint at night of 7 November. The Young Front activist Daryia Bakhur was questioned in the case of the monument.
