On 11 February the police paid a visit to the Polonika, the Hrodna firm headed by Anzhalika Borys, Chairperson of the Union of Poles in Belarus in disgrace, to serve writs for interrogations to Mrs. Borys, Andrei Pachobut, Mechyslau Yaskevich and Ihar Bantsar.

The police didn’t explain the reason for the interrogations, but most probably they are connected with the yesterday’s mass actions of the UPB members near its headquarters that is now occupied by the pro-governmental Union of Poles.

According to Andrei Pachobut, the UPB members refused to accept the writs, because according to them they were to have come to the interrogation at 3 a.m. on 11 February. However, the policemen left the writs in the building and can try to forcibly take the UPB activists to the interrogation.

At the same time, the police started a check-up of Magazyn Polski, the UPB magazine, and summoned for interrogation its editor Ihar Bantsar.
