Hrodna: judicial absurd
The Hrodna oblast court dismissed the claim of the Hrodna oblast organization of the Belarusian Social Democratic Hramada against the decision of the Hrodna oblast executive committee and the Presidium of the Hrodna oblast Soviet of Deputies of 8 February, by which the BSDH representative Uladzimir Khilmanovich hadn’t been included in the Limozh constituency election commission #6.
To justify her decision, Judge Lidmila Maliuchok stated that the court had already considered a similar complaint by the Hrodna BSDH organization against the non-inclusion of its representative Viktar Sazonau in the territorial election commission. The BSDH representatives are sure that such court decision is unlawful and even absurd, because Sazonau and Khilmanovich were nominated to the commissions of different levels, which means that consideration of different complaints can be banned by one court decision, issued on a certain stage of the electoral process. Besides, one of the requirements of the complaint was giving an answer in the Belarusian language, whereas the court answer was written in Russian.
