Hrodna: courts don’t grant claims of members of political parties
The Hrodna oblast court dismissed the cassation complaint of the Hrodna oblast organization of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party. The reason is that the verdict against which the members of the party appeal runs that it is ‘final and is not subject of appeal’. The BSDP members consider it as denial in access to justice and are going to appeal against this verdict as well.
Bear in mind that in their first lawsuit the BSDP members appealed against the non-inclusion of the party nominees in election commissions.
The Hrodna oblast organization of the United Civil Party received from the Hrodna oblast court an answer to its complaint against the formation of the constituency election commissions in Hrodna without inclusion of the UCP nominees in them. Judge Viachaslau Mikhnevich dismissed the claim under the pretext that the formed commissions meet the quotation requirements for members of political parties and NGOs. The court decided not to discriminate in the reasons why the UCP members were not included in the commissions. In the verdict, it is written that the ‘court decision is final and is not subject of appeal’.
