Liabedzka summonsed for interrogation
Anatol Liabedzka, Chair of the United Civic Party of Belarus, was summonsed for interrogation to Minsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office. The UCPB leader is to give explanations concerning his arrest in the town of Valozhyn, Minsk region, on 15 February, during a protest rally staged by the unrecognized Union of Poles in Belarus. The politician was then warned the civil charges might become criminal prosecution in future.
‘It is a continuation of the Valozhyn case. I think the judge submitted the case materials to both the regional prosecutor’s office and a higher body. I am going to the regional prosecutor’s office to investigator Azarevich. There I will find out my status and what can be expected from Belarusian prosecutors,’ says Mr. Liabedzka.
