The Svetlahorsk lyceum of chemists has nominated its candidates to the Homel oblast and the Homel oblast Soviets of Deputies.

According to information of the local newspaper Ranak, the working collectives of the lyceum and the boarding school unanimously voted for the nomination of Halina Filipovich, Chairperson of the district Soviet of Deputies, as a candidate to the Homel oblast Soviet. Tatsiana Naskova, member of the United Civil Party, intends to run at the same constituency and will become a rival to Halina Filipovich if her candidacy is registered.

By the way, at the elections to the local Soviets of Deputies in 2007 the lyceum nominated its teacher Halina Harchanok as a candidate to the Homel oblast Soviet. The teacher was elected.

The lyceum also nominated Mikalai Charneika, its director, as a candidate to the Homel district Soviet of Deputies.

Members of the United Civil Party, the Belarusian Popular Front and the Fair World also intend to run in Svetlahorsk. In Svetlahorsk district, there are four constituencies on elections to the Homel oblast Soviet of Deputies.

According to Ranak, the Svetlahorsk district has 40 election constituencies on elections to the Svetlahorsk Soviet of Deputies. The average number of electors is 1,671. ‘As a result of the last year’s optimization of the administrative division of the village Soviets in the Svetlahorsk district the number of election constituencies decreased by 39,’ writes the edition.
