Lidziya Yarmoshyna recommended the Barysau district election commission to ‘equalize’ biographical data of candidates
Lidziya Yarmoshyna, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, recommended the Barysau district election commission to ‘introduce the necessary changes in the prepared for printing posters with the biographical data of the candidates for deputies, taking into account that posters of all candidates must contain equal scope of information.’
This recommendation was made by the CEC in response to a complaint by Siarhei Salash, a proxy of Dzmitry Babitski, candidate for the Barysau District Council of Deputies, in which Mr. Salash stated that the Barysau district election commission omitted facts from biographies of candidates, presenting the activist of the For Freedom movement and the BPF Party Babitski, economist, postgraduate of Belarusian State Economic University and coauthor of a number of scientific researches, as a marginal.
Yarmoshyna’s answer effectively lets the Barysau DEC off the leash. S.Salash is also indignant at the fact that the CEC Chairperson answered his Belarusian-language complaint in Russian.
