Vitsebsk: opposition candidate can be excluded from electoral race
Uladzimir Ramanovich, a candidate of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party for the Vitsebsk City Council of Deputies, faces a warning or, in the worst case, exclusion from the electoral race.
The matter is that a worker of hostel #2 of Vitsebsk Technological University lodged a complaint against Mr. Ramanovich concerning ‘unauthorized electoral meeting’ on 9 April.
The matter is that on 9 April he passed by the student dormitory and was approached by several students who asked to give them information materials connected to the elections. As a result, the candidate had an interesting talk with them, to which some more students joined. All of them wanted to know more about Ramanovich’s views and political program. The candidate states that he had no intention to hold an electoral meeting, and it was just a coincidence.
The consideration of the complaint was scheduled for 15 April.
