Candidate summoned for questioning by KGB

On 14 April late at night a candidate for deputy Ales Zarembiuk was given a summons where a reason of questioning had not been even indicated.

The oppositionist was told to come to the Hrodna regional KGB bureau on 15 April in the morning, the European Radio for Belarus informs.

The writ does not have information about the case and in which capacity Zarembiuk is summoned. The policeman who handed in the writ didn't know that either.

Bear in mind that two weeks ago Zarembiuk stated that special services were preparing provocations against him. As said by the oppositionist, they plan to instigate criminal cases in order to remove him from the electoral race. On April 11 Aliaksandr Zarembiuk was detained for 7 hours at Belarusian-Lithuanian border. His photo-camera was seized for KGB expert examination.

The politician is running for the Hrodna Regional and the Masty District Councils of Deputies.
