Hrodna regional prosecutor fails to see any law violations
The Hrodna human rights defender Raman Yurhel, a representative of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, receive an answer from the Hrodna regional procurator Viktar Maroz to his complaint concerning violations of the electoral legislation.
Mr. Yurhel states that the authorities violated the legal term for publishing the decision of the Leninski and the Kastrychnitski District Executive Committees of Hrodna on formation of precinct election commissions. According to the law, the state-owned newspaper Hrodzenskaya Prauda was to have published the text of the decision in seven days, which didn’t happen.
Nevertheless, the Hrodna regional prosecutor answers that he doesn’t see any law violations there. At the same time, Raman Yurhel received an answer from the General Procuracy department of supervision over implementation of rights and liberties of citizens, which reads that such violation could really take place.
