Candidate not allowed observing vote count
Mikalai Ulasevich, running for the Hrodna Regional Council and Varniany Village Council, asked the chair of the election commission at Varniany polling station #7 to allow him observe the counting of votes at a reasonable distance. However, when he appeared at the polling station 15 minutes before the end of the voting, he was pointed to a table 8 meters away from the table where the counting was to be held.
When the count started, Mr. Ulasevich came up to the table, but the commission’s chair Nadzeya Subach ordered him to take his seat. When he said he could see nothing from there, the official called the policeman who stood in front of the candidate, so that he could not see what was going on at the counting table. As a result, Mr. Ulasevich left the polling station, seeing no use in staying there.
The candidate reported the incident to the constituency, regional and the Central Election Commissions.
