An instance of blatant violation of the Electoral Code was recorded at Orsha’s election commission #6. Aliaksandr Kaminski, BPF member, running for the Orsha Town Council, was not allowed observing the vote counting and forced to leave the premises by the police.
The actions by the commission’s chair and the police are an outrage against Article 13 of the Electoral Code, which allows the presence of the candidate while vote counting.
The incident throw doubt on the transparency of vote counting, as a result of which the election was won by Kaminski’s rival – deputy chair of Orsha town executive committee Liudmila Dabrynina.
