On 13 May evening the riot police detained Mikola Dzemidzenka, Deputy Chairperson of the Young Front, in Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.
As Mr. Dzemidzenka explained to Radio Liberty, he was just walking on the square, when he was noticed by riot policemen, who knew him by sight as they had often detained him for participation in street actions. They demanded from him to explain why he was on the square. Then they told him that he was detained, called a paddy wagon, put him there and took away his passport. In some time the passport was returned to the owner and he was let go.
