Vitsebsk: another detention of Barys Khamaida
Oppositionist Barys Khamaida was detained in the center of Vitsebsk for spreading independent press.
He was guarded to the police station. A report against him was drawn up under part 1 of article 21.14 of the Code of Administrative Offences, RFE/RL informs.
Khamaida tells that a policeman on duty, who had detained him, counted printed materials Khamaida was selling, copies of Nasha Niva newspaper, ARCHE magazine, Uladzimir Padhol’s book, and materials of the Conservative Christian Party BPF.
Officers of the Chyhnachny District Police Department of Vitsebsk were going to draw a report on illegal trade, but failed to find witnesses. Then they wrote in the report the activist obstructed the pavement of Lenin Street with his folding table with books and newspapers and a white-red-white umbrella.
