Judge of the the Pershamaiski District Court of Vitsebsk, Viktar Kolbun found activist Siarhei Kavalenka guilty of disorderly conduct.
The incident, considered by the court, took place on 8 May, ahead of Victory Day. The member of the Conservative Christian Party BPF Siarhei Kavalenka and his younger brother Vital were detained in a store and placed in a detention facility for alleged using obscene language in public, RFE/RL informs.
The brothers deny the accusation. They are sure they were detained preventively in order to isolate them on Victory Day. The trial of Vital Kavalenka was postponed to 10 July.
