On 1 July, an activist of the Party of Belarusian Christian Democracy, Kastus Shytal, was detained in the village of the Budslau in the Miadzel district of the Minsk region during the traditional festivities in honor of the icon of Our Lay of Budslau.
As one of the BCD leaders, Pavel Seviarynets, said, the policemen who were letting people through tourniquets there had photos of the people they needed to search.
Kastus Shytal was guarded to the police station, where 150 leaflets of the campaign ‘Prayer for Belarus’ were taken away from him. In about 30 minutes the activist was let go.
