Siarhei Panamarou is suspected in insult of officials

Siarhei Panamarou, a Kletsk activist of the For Freedom movement, was summoned to the Minsk Region Procuracy for an interrogation at 10 a.m. on 9 July, at the office of an investigator of especially important cases, Mr. Azarevich, in Shchadryn Street, 1.

A criminal case has been brought against Mr. Panamarou under Article 369 of the Criminal Code, ‘insult of an official’. According to the defendant, there is a total of five episodes: the local brass, including Anatol Boika, Chairperson of the Kletsk District Executive Committee, Piatro Dudzik, Chairperson of the Kletsk District Council of Deputies, Piatro Dudzik and Alena Hastseyeva, a judge of the Kletsk District Court, decided to lodge claims against him at the same time.

Siarhei Panamarou considers it as politically motivated persecution connected to the criticism of the local authorities in the pages of his bulletin Boiki Kletsk. The criminal case is based on seven articles of the bulletin, in which the investigation found traits of insult.
