A civil activist Veranika Lazouskaya told RFE/RL that the Belarusian border guards searched her belongings on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border saying they looked for forbidden information.
At first, they looked for the words ‘president’, ‘patriotism’, and ‘white-red-white flag’ in her documents. They phoned their commanders several times, then said good-bye and went away. But when the train was to depart, they returned and said the girls should get off.
The customs officers said that they needed to seize her laptop to check it for forbidden information in accordance with Article 207, paragraph 2 of the Customs Code.
