Mahiliou Human Rights Center will have to pay BYR 13,658,000 of rent to Leninski district housing department, as ordered by Mahiliou Regional Economic Court, Radio Racyja reports.
According to the Center’s leader Barys Bukhel, the human rights activists were deprived of renting preferences back in 2008. However, the housing department failed to inform the organization about the decision. As a result, the Human Rights Center’s rent was restated post factum, thus forcing the human rights defenders to leave the premises, since they are unable to pay the huge sum.
