Krychau District Court is to consider a claim lodged by the publisher of local independent newspaper ‘Volny Horad’ Uladzimer Kudrautsau against illegal seizure of 297 copies of the newspaper’s latest issue by the town’s police, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.
Besides, the claimant urged the court to identify the plainclothes person who took part in the arrest of the newspaper’s delivery man.
Uladzimer Kudrautsau wants to recover BYR 5 mln of damage for violation of personal non-property rights guaranteed by the Constitution – right to freedom of beliefs and their free expression, right to dissemination of full, true and timely information.
