Ministry of Justice afraid of solidarity fund

The trade union was warned that it can face troubles because of the establishment of the fund of solidarity. The decision about the establishment of the fund for giving financial support to participants of strikes was taken by the Council of the Trade Union on the initiative of the trade union organization of the Lios factory situated in the town of Baran (the Vitsebsk region).

The Ministry of Justice argues that organization of strikes without preventive measures is unlawful.

In his commentary to the European Radio for Belarus, the initiator of the establishment of the fund Vasil Leuchankau said that the trade union hadn’t received an official warning, but a remark from the Ministry of Justice.

’We still haven’t received it in the form of a written document, that’s why we won’t give any comments now’, he added.
