As stated to the BelaPAN by Yury Aleinik, activists of Speak Truth filed complaints to FIFA, UEFA and CHL against violation of their rights as fans by the police. The matter is that on 7 September the police detained about 50 activists of the campaign Speak Truth at the entrance to the Minsk stadium Dynama. They were not allowed to the match because of wearing T-shirts with the campaign logo under their coats. The police guarded them to the Leninski District Police Department, where they were kept for more than three hours. As a result, the people missed the match to which they had bought tickets.
About 15 activists of the campaign were detained for the same reason on 9 September in the sports complex Minsk-Arena, before the match between the Continental Hockey League game between Dynama (Minsk) and Torpedo" (Nizhniy Novgorod)..
’The rights of the people who bought tickets but could not get to football and hockey just because of what they were wearing were violated. The guards said that that these T-shirts didn’t meet the state ideology, but it has nothing to do with football or hockey’, commented Mr. Aleinik.
According to him, on 11 September complaints were sent to the addressee by fax. ‘In addition, we will send them by registered mail’, - said the activist.
Moreover, seven people have already filed complaints with the prosecutor of the Leninski district of Minsk concerning the fact of their detention, which they consider illegal. In addition, several complaints will be filed with the Tsentralny District Procuracy of Minsk in connection with the detention in Minsk-Arena.
