Another warning to “Narodnaya Volya” newspaper

It is the forth warning to the independent newspaper since the begging of the year.

Minister of information Aleh Pralyaskouski issued another warning to “Narodnaya Volya”, the press service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists informs.

It has been issued for violation of article 4 of the Law on Mass Media providing for spreading the true information, Radio Svaboda reports.

According to the minister, the newspaper violated the law in the articles “KGB Knocked Out State Control Committee” and “New Corruption Scandal in State Control Committee”, which were printed in August.

“Spreading information about activity of the State Control Committee discredits the above mentioned agency and may have negative impact on its activity and cause other negative consequences,” the ministry says.

Two and more warnings per a year to the staff or founders of a media outlet can lead to suspension of its activity.
