Results of formation of Orsha town and Orsha district territorial electoral commissions appealed at court
The Orsha Town Committee of the Belarusian Leftist Party Fair World lodged a claim against the decision of the Orsha Town Executive Committee and the Presidium of the Orsha Town Council of Deputies about the formation of the Orsha Town Electoral Commission.
The plaintiffs believe that ‘the actions and the decision of the Orsha Town Executive Committee and the Presidium of the Orsha Town Council of Deputies… are unlawful and violate the constitutional rights of citizens’. In particular, the interested persons weren’t timely informed about the date and place of the sitting of the state agencies that established the commission, as a result of which their representatives were deprived of the opportunity to take part in the discussion of this issue. The criteria for the choice of the commission members are unknown. Moreover, the candidacies that were nominated to the commissions weren’t voiced and discussed. That’s why the plaintiffs ask the court to find the decision about the formation of the commission unlawful.
A similar complaint was lodged to the Orsha Town and District Court by the Orsha district committee of Fair World.
