Baranavichy: Yaraslau Hryshchenia was given summons to military enlistment office while collecting signatures

On 5 September an officer of the Baranavichy Town Military Enlistment Office presented a summons to the local activist Yaraslau Hryshchenia while he was collecting signatures at an electoral picket in the center of Baranavichy. According to the summons, he must come to the military enlistment office at 9 a.m. on 8 October.

On 27 September Mr. Hryshchenia had already come to the military enlistment office and said that on 10 October he would present to its officers the document witnessing that he was a student of Poznan University named after Adam Mickiewicz.

At the same time, the local police inspector suddenly started looking of the activist.

Bear in mind that Yaraslau Hryshchenia coordinates the work of youth activists who collect signatures in support of registration of the candidacies of Yaraslau Ramanchuk and Mikalai Statkevich for the presidential election. The youth managed to collect about 300 signatures for Ramanchuk and about 800 signatures for Statkevich.

Yaraslau Hryshchenia doesn’t mind serving in the army, but is afraid that he can be ‘detained’ for an unknown period of time under some pretext.
