Pinsk: state-owned press fails to present timely information about change of rules of electoral campaigning
A notice about introduction of amendments to the ruling of the Pinsk District Executive Committee About determining the places that are banned for picketing aimed at collecting signatures was published in edition #80 of the state-owned newspaper Polesskaya Pravda only 12 days after the introduction of these amendments.
The amendments were adopted back on 28 September and published in Polesskaya Pravda only on 9 October, though at least two editions had been published since its adoption. However, it seems that nobody will protest against this violation of the electoral legislation, as electors’ signatures are collected only by A.Lukashenka’s electoral team in the Pinsk district.
The same edition of the newspaper also published another ruling of the local authorities – the one that concerns the establishment of electoral precincts. As it follows from it, the Pinsk district will have a total of 70 precincts.
