The member of the Belarusian Popular Front Party Aliaksandr Kastusiou worked as a driver in the taxi firm 107, using his own car.

The day before yesterday Mr. Kuzniatsou was told that he was dismissed as the firm didn’t need any trouble. Several days ago he had received a telephone call from a dispatcher, who had temporary implemented the functions of the head. She asked why he wasn’t standing at an electoral picket instead of working. He answered that the car was at repairs, and added that it had happened while he had been working, which could be witnessed by passengers.

However, his explanations weren’t accepted and the dispatcher said that the firm didn’t need the workers who participated in opposition pickets.

Aliaksandr says that he intended to collect signatures for Ryhor Kostuseu in his free time, but received the opportunity to do it more often when his car broke, the more that he didn’t need to work everyday according to the agreement he had signed with the firm.

Nevertheless, he was dismissed and told that he had not only to return the walkie-talkie, but also to pay some money to the firm as a forfeit. Mr. Kuzniatsou intends to apply to human rights defenders for legal aid in connection with the dismissal.
