Meetings of Zhodzina town election commission should be public, says local observer
Aliaksei Lapitski, observer at Zhodzina town election commission, addressed the commission with a statement, calling the officials to inform him on the time of meetings, after the commission members repeatedly failed to invite him to its meetings, including the recent one where the issues of constituency formation was considered.
‘There are no other announcements and information on the commission’s scheduled events,’ says the observer in his statement.
‘Under these circumstances, I, as a registered observer, am deprived of the necessary information and opportunities to perform observation of electoral procedures, says Mr. Lapitski.
The observer also asked the commission to allow him to attend the meeting, when verification of signatures is expected to be done.
