Minsk Maskouski Court considered a claim by a Belarusian Helsinki Committee lawyer Harry Pahaniayla, who earlier lodged a complaint against Decision #49 by the Central Election Commission, which considerably restricted opportunities to delegate representatives of political parties and NGOs to election commissions.
The court found the decision legitimate. However, the human rights activist believes it runs counter to the Belarusian legislation, since political parties and public associations can only delegate their representatives to the Central Election Commission.
According to Mr. Pahaniayla, by doing this, the authorities impair ‘efficient observation of the election.’
