Minsk teachers are forced to join 'Belaya Rus'
The administration
of secondary school #121 of Minsk ordered all teachers to fill blanks for
joining the ‘state NGO’ Belaya Rus which
is, by the way, headed by the Education Minister, Aliaksandr Radzkou, who is
also the head of the electoral headquarters of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
The teachers can be deprived of wage bonuses or put on the ‘dismissal list’ for
refusing to implement this order.
A teacher of this school (name withheld), told us: ‘Such massive joining to Belaya Rus is connected to the
presidential electoral campaign. As they say in the lobby, we will be used for
agitation purposes – we will have to persuade people to vote for the well-known
candidate for president. I have absolutely no wish to do it. Moreover, I signed
in support of another candidate, Yaraslau Ramanchuk, as I consider him the most
worthy out of all pretenders for this seat. However, I have to earn money for
my family, as my colleagues do. That’s why I will have to join Belaya Rus.’
