Almost a half of candidates for the precinct election commissions of the Brest region were nominated by collection of electors’ signatures, while political parties nominated just 2% of pretenders.

The official website of the Brest City Executive Committee, www.brest-region.by published information about the nomination of candidates for the precinct election commissions. According to the published data, there are 11,453 pretenders for membership in 986 precinct commissions. 5.387 of them (47%) were nominated by collecting electors’ signatures, 1,999 (17.5%) were nominated by collectives of enterprises and institutions, 246 (2.1%) – by political parties and 3,821 (33.4%) – by NGOs.

The leader among the political parties is the Belarusian Popular Front who nominated 90 representatives, and the official Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus holds leadership among NGOs – 1,478 nominees.
