Precinct commissions are formed secretly in Biaroza and Zhodzina
Biaroza
The Biaroza District Executive Committee (DEC) ignored the delegation by the
Brest Regional Council of the Belarusian Popular Front Party of three members
of the party to the sitting of the Biaroza DEC on formation of the precinct
election commissions.
The sitting started at 8.15 a.m. on 1 November, and the information about it
was uploaded to the website of the executive committee at this very time. The
officials also ignored the request of the BPF delegates to inform them about
the time and place of the sitting which they had submitted to the DEC in
advance.
Representatives of the BPF are going to file complaints against violations of
the electoral legislation.
Zhodzina
The Chairperson of the Zhodzina Town Executive Committee Mikhal
Amel’ianchuk blankly refused to admit the human rights defender Aliaksei
Lapitski to the sitting on formation of the precinct election commissions of
Zhodzina, though earlier he had allowed him to attend the sitting on formation
of the Zhodzina Town Election Commission.
In his answer to the human rights defender he refers to Article 13 of the
Electoral Code that regulates the rules of observers, ignoring the fact that
Mr. Lapitski filed his application as an elector and a citizen of the Republic of Belarus.
